Thanks for Killing the Earth

Well, we continue to be jerks, day after day. This time it’s not just attitude, it’s dumping on the Earth. So I would peronally like to say to all of you (myself included) . . . thanks for killing the Earth.
It was reported today by CNN that a huge chunk of ice from the Antarctic called Wilkins shelf has suddenly collapsed. How big was this chunk? Oh I dunno, how about the seven times the size of Manhattan? Could you imagine most of New York suddenly breaking down and washing away? I can’t!
Many scientists agree that global warming is putting glacial ice at risk, so this Antarctic break is a huge blow to the glacial system. British Antarctic Survey scientist David Vaughan agrees and thinks that what happened with this collapse was caused by global warming. Vaughn actually predicted this piece would break off, but not for 15 more years.
According to CNN, “The rest of the Wilkins ice shelf, which is about the size of Connecticut, is holding on by a narrow beam of thin ice. Scientists worry that it too may collapse. Larger, more dramatic ice collapses occurred in 2002 and 1995.”
Come on guys, stop killing the Earth. Be good to her or she’ll hurt you BAD!
