Nike ID

Posted on 30 April 2007 by LJ

I have discovered the coolest thing called the Nike ID. Basically it’s this chip you stick in your running shoe and connect the small transmitter to your iPod Nano and it tracks everything; page, average pace, distance, time and calories. You even pick your own play list and when you get tired just press the middle button for your “Power Song” to boost your energy.

After each run you connect your iPod to your computer and it automatically updates to the Nike ID site. This site tracks all ofNike ID Shoe your progress and shows it various ways with bar graphs. As for your feet, go with the Nike ID shoe, called Nike+, because it has an indentation under the insert that fits the chip perfectly so you can’t even feel it when you run. I just got the basic Nike+ shoes as I needed new running shoes anyway and not only is it cool because of the Nike ID add on, but it’s also a great fit, comfortable and stable.

Check out Nike+ shoes!

Since I’m a beginner this is the perfect motivator for me. I can see my progress since February when I got the Nike ID. In March I ran twice as often and twice as far as I did in February and in April I’ve run even more. It’s really cool to be able to just log on to a Nike ID site and look at how far I’ve come in just 3 months.

If you are trying to get into walking/running, or if you are already avid in the sport and need something to track your progress I strongly recommend the Nike ID. It rules!
