Jennifer Love Hewitt isn’t a fatty anymore because she recently lost 18 pounds.

Okay, actually, I never thought Jennifer Love Hewitt was fat. I think she’s beautiful and curvy and a real woman. Six months ago when all the magazines and celebrities were calling her fat it really pissed me off that they were attacking a normal girl who isn’t a stick but who certainly isn’t fat.

I was proud of her because instead of slinking down into the darkness and becoming a skeleton Jennifer stood up for herself saying things lik, “To set the record straight, I’m not upset for me, but for all of the girls out there that are struggling with their body image.” And, “A size 2 is not fat! Nor will it ever be. And being a size 0 doesn’t make you beautiful. … To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini – put it on and stay strong.”

Recently though Jennifer sat down with Health Magazine to talk about her recent 18 pound weight loss. Is it a crime to lose weight? Of course not, good for her that she is trying to get more healthy. The thing is though, it’s almost like she doesn’t believe in what she used to say and she’s kind of sending the message, “You have to be a size 0 to be happy and beautiful.”

Honestly, if something like that had happened to me, even on a much smaller scale I would probably give in too. So on the one hand it’s like you have to be proud of her and give her a hand for a lifestyle change and on the other it’s sad because they got her. They got what they wanted. They (media) humiliated someone about their weight and no matter how hard she tried to stay proud and strong in the end she decided she had to lose weight.

Anyway, Jennifer Love Hewitt looks great (as always) and she’s training for a marathon so props to her on that.

It was recently reported that Christina Applegate, everyone’s favorite TV hottie, was diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m happy to report though that Christina kicked cancer to the curb!

This morning in an interview on Good Morning America Christina Applegate announced that her very talented doctors were able to totally remove the cancer in her breast.

ABC news reported Applegate saying, “I’m clear, absolutely 100 percent clear and clean. … They got everything out so I’m definitely not going to die from breast cancer.”

Breast cancer is a very scary thing for any woman and the chance that it will come back is always mortifying. It’s fantastic that they were able to win this battle and I can only hope that it’s gone for good. Congrats to Christina!

Comedian/actor Ellen DeGeneres got married over the weekend to her long time girlfriend Portia de Rossi who is also an actor. The two promised they would get married as soon as the ban on gay marriage was deemed unconstitutional and unbanned, and they did.

According to a PEOPLE spokesperson Ellen and Portia had a small, intimate ceremony in there Los Angeles home.

I want to give a big congratulations to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. The whole ban on gay marriage is just ridiculous in my opinion and I think it’s great these two had a chance to get married, just like all of us silly hetero’s do.

I hope you stay together forever and ever!

Bernie Mac died pretty suddenly on Saturday and now I found out that Isaac Hayes died too.

65 year old singer and actor Isaac Hayes was found by a family member collapsed next to his treadmill. He died an hour later in the Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Circumstances of his death aren’t known.

One odd thing about this death is that he’d just wrapped up filming for an upcoming movie with Bernie Mac called “Soul Men”. Very ominous.

Hayes is best known for writing and performing the theme song for “Shaft” and has been billed as one of the best and most progressive artists of our time. Let’s just say he was rapping before anyone knew what rap was. He’s also very well known to the youngin’s for his role of Chef on “South Park”.

Daily Brew wishes the Hayes family well. He will be missed.

Bernie Mac died WTF?

About three weeks ago comedian and actor Bernie Mac was hospitalized due to a bout of pneumonia. His family and friends, and even his doctors expected Bernie to make a full recovery from it but as the day’s started to pass they started to lose hope.

Bernie Mac died on Saturday at the age of 50 from complications due to pneumonia at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

I’m so shocked about this I don’t even know what else to say. I didn’t even know he was in the hospital. The Daily Brew’s heart goes out to his loved ones. Shock.

After Morgan Freeman got in a terrible car crash it came out that he had a symbolic car crash in his marriage. Yes that’s right, Morgan Freeman is getting divorced. This news is really weird to me because Morgan Freeman is one of those actors that’s so brilliant yet stays out of the spotlight so you don’t know if he’s married or not. I guess he is/was.

He and his apparently classy and cute wife Myrna Colley-Lee (she’s in the costume biz) have been married for 24 years. No one knows or at least is saying why but dang. A year away from the big quarter century 25 years and you end it. It’s probably because he was a jerk, you know because it’s always the guy ruining relationships.

Oh and if you wanted an update on his health status, he’s doing a lot better and still smiling, but frowning sometimes because of the divorce.

Terrible news today. Morgan Freeman was hospitalized today and is in serious condition after an incredibly bad car crash.

The crash happened in Mississippi. The car veered off the highway and then flipped several times. Rescue workers had to use the jaws of life just to get Moran Freeman out. Witnesses said the 71 year old actor seemed coherent enough to joke a bit as he was taken to the ambulance but he faces a long road of recovery ahead.

I absolutely love Moran Freeman. He’s genius in any role he plays. I believe him, he gets to me. I really hope he comes out of this ok, because it’s not his time!

Also I hate to bring this up, but this better not be one of those movie curses for the Batman cast members. You know like Poltergeist. First Heath and now Morgan? Damn the though.

This letter is in reference to an experience I just had. While filling up my car at the gas station last night at approximately 10, a douchebag thug (probably a friend of yours) attempted to approach me in a nervous and angry fashion and demand that I give him a ride somewhere. When I jumped in the car and refused he only kept coming at me, reaching his hand out to me and continuing to demand that he get in my car. Luckily I was able to step on the gas, get the hell out of there and call the cops on him.

My request to you is this: Don’t carjack me you carjacking douchebags. For that matter, don’t carjack anyone. And for non-carjacking douchebags reading this letter, please don’t buy any carjacking douchebags sob stories about how they had a ride but their ride took off and now they are just innocently looking for a ride somewhere, whatever direction you happen to be going. It’s a lie. They are trying to carjack you and probably murder you. Drive away from carjacking douchebags as fast as you possibly can no matter what they say.

DON’T FREAKING CARJACK ME.

Last semester (yes I’m a college student) I took a class called Blogging as a Social Force. I know, I took a blogging class in college which counts as 4 credits towards my bachelor’s degree and I still suck at blogging. Anyway, in this class we were shown an online video of something that has come to be known as “Last Lecture”, a lecture given by Randy Pausch, a computer science professor. It had absolutely nothing to do with blogging, but my professor felt it was important enough that we should spend a class and a half watching it. She was absolutely right.

In September 2006 Professor Randy Pausch was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and was given 3 to 6 months to live (he blew that out of the water!). Now in the education industry the idea of the “last lecture” is basically, if you knew you were dying and you only had one lecture left, what would it be? Most professors give the lecture as a hypothetical “what if I were about to die, this is what I’d tell you about” but for Professor Pausch the opportunity to lecture about the most important thing in his life before he passed on became a reality.

A month after his diagnosis at Carnegie Mellon University where he taught Professor Pausch gave his “Last Lecture”. Most of the audience wasn’t aware he had cancer until he announced it at the beginning of the lecture and then proceeded to do push-ups on the stage to show just how strong and healthy he was, no sympathy for him!

The words that he spoke after the announcement were insightful, funny, thought-provoking ones that have been an inspiration to millions. It was about his journey through life, his experiences, how he over came walls, made friends and achieved what he wanted in life and he was trying to show people how to do it too. In the end though, he revealed this “Last Lecture” wasn’t for the audience in front of him at all, but was intended as a legacy for his kids.

Now I don’t usually get too serious on the Daily Brew but Randy Pausch was an amazing guy whose lecture really touched me. Sadly Professor Randy Pausch died early this morning in Virginia. He leaves behind a beautiful wife and three adorable kids, as well as a legacy that has been and no doubt will be still inspiring millions of people, including his own family for years to come.

“The Last Lecture” is a little over an hour but it’s really worth taking a look at. Check it out.

Matthew Broderick is married to Sarah Jessica Parker. Matthew Broderick used to be Mr. Cool Ferris Bueller’s Day Off guy. Matthew Broderick grew up and turned into a total Broadway nerd who is lucky to be married to a cool cat like Sarah Jessica Parker. Sadly though, I’m afraid the fact that he played someone cool in a movie warped his mind so now Matthew Broderick still think he’s Ferris Bueller, this hot guy that can do whatever he wants and get away with it because he’s tricky and cool. He was mistaken.

You see Daily Brew friends, Matthew Broderick was caught cheating on his lovely wife Sarah Jessica Parker with some 25 year old hussie youth counselor that he met at a bar. Not cool Matthew. Not only is it not cool, it’s really skeezy, especially when they paraded around town together, in public for all to see while little Square Peg Sarah Jessica was filming Sex in the City in L.A. um, you know, because she’s cool and sexy enough to make that show a hit. You’re cheating on THAT Matthew?

Look at that picture and tell me he’s good enough for her? I’m not saying she’s the most amazing and beautiful woman in the world, but she could do better than him and he just opened the door and gave her a reason to start lookin.

P.S. The home wrecker also has a nick name for Matthew Broderick; “Matty Cakes”. Seriously? You are having a torrid affair with Inspector Gadget and that’s all you could come up with? At least screw around with someone more creative, you are on Broadway for hell’s sake.
