This is my official plea to the ABC network big wigs: don’t cancel Pushing Daisies, please!

Early this morning I heard an announcement that my new favorite show, Pushing Daisies, is probably going to be canceled at the end of this season and any loose ends are going to be tied up in a comic book on the Pushing Daisies page on the ABC website. Say what?! That makes absolutely no sense.

If you aren’t familiar with Pushing Daisies, here’s the premise from IMDB: A man named Ned has the ability to bring the dead back to life. The catch is, it’s only for one minute, if they are alive longer than a minute someone must die in their place, he also can’t touch someone he saves again or they will die and he can’t save them again. Through his connections with PI Emerson Cod, Ned revives his childhood sweetheart, Chuck. The trio, aided occasionally by Olive Snook, helps solve the mysteries of various murders, whose murderer is often surprising.

The synopsis might not do Pushing Daisies justice because there is just so much more to it. I love it because it’s smart, witty, quirky, bright, whimsical and all of the actors go above and beyond. Pushing Daisies is just a fun show and one that we need on TV. It’s from the creators of Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me, Brian Fuller, so you know it’s a really good show that is just going to waste without everyone watching it.

Please, if you have a soul, watch Pushing Daisies. You won’t be sorry you did and if you do, it probably won’t go away!!
