2007 Emmy Awards

If you hadn’t heard, the 2007 Emmy Awards were last night on FOX. For those of you who don’t know what the Emmy Awards are, it’s an award show for TV like the Oscars are to movies. I do think last nights Emmy Awards were better than recent years past, except for the fact that the host, Ryan Seacrest, was an annoying bore from the pre-show on the red carpet to the after party.

Here is your official 2007 Emmy Award Update (well the ones I give a hoot about anyway):

Drama Series: “The Sopranos,” HBO.

Comedy Series: “30 Rock,” NBC.

Variety, Music or Comedy Series: “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart,” Comedy Central.

Actor, Drama Series: James Spader, “Boston Legal,” ABC.

Actress, Drama Series: Sally Field, “Brothers & Sisters,” ABC.

Supporting Actress, Drama Series: Katherine Heigl, “Grey’s Anatomy,” ABC.

Supporting Actress, Comedy Series: Jaime Pressly, “My Name Is Earl,” NBC.

Writing for a Drama Series: “The Sopranos: Made in America,” HBO.

Writing, Comedy Series: “The Office: Gay Witch Hunt,” NBC.

Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program: Late Night With Conan O’Brien,” NBC.

To see James Spader, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, The Office and Late Night With Conan O’Brien win Emmy’s? That just rocks the Nation. BUT the fact that Hero’s didn’t win anything? No writing, no acting, no best drama? What a crock.

Some 2007 Emmy Award highlights include: the opening Family Guy number, the Steven Colbert and Jon Stewart bit when British Comedian Ricky Gervais wasn’t there to accept his award so instead they gave it to Steve Carell, Sally Field being so overwhelmed she forgot who she was thanking and proceeded to speak gibberish…which was oddly adorable, James Spader saying winning felt like stealing a pile of money from the mob, and thats pretty much it for the 2007 Emmy Awards.
